Historic homes built in the 1800s to the early 1900s can be found in the Old Village, encompassing three blocks that end by the river. River Road is also the site of several older homes.

More affordable properties are found further inland, close to amenities like schools, shops, and restaurants. These charming homes come with spacious yards surrounded by mature trees, built in the Cape Cod, ranch, Arts and Crafts, and other architectural styles.

Attractions and Amenities

  • The Navesink River is the destination for many recreational activities in the area. It is home to several yacht clubs and features a public fishing pier and boat launch.
  • Sea Bright and Sandy Hook beaches are popular destinations, and many Fair Haven families belong to Sea Bright’s private beach clubs.
  • Fair Haven Fields is a major attraction and a neighborhood haunt. This 77-acre park includes 37 acres devoted to sports fields and tennis courts, and the 40-acre Haven Fields Natural Area – a nature preserve featuring woodlands, picturesque trails, and a pond.
  • For shopping, nightlife, and dining, residents typically go to the neighborhood commercial district of River Road. Some of the favorite restaurants and bars in the area are Raven and the Peach, Umberto’s Pizzeria, and Nauvoo Grill Club. Popular shops include Canyon Pass Provisions, Distinctive Toys, and Lotus Way.
  • Old Village, Fair Haven’s historic district, features some of the oldest homes and buildings in the borough.
