What to Look for When Touring a Home for Sale

Touring a piece of property for sale gives you a chance to take a close look at the amenities that are offered and help you decide what is most important to you in considering the home of your future.

Here is what you should consider:

Location, Location, Location!

Location, Location, Location! Image

River Road Books opened in 2006 with the goal of bringing a community of readers together. It’s located at 759 River Road, in Fair Haven, NJ.

Located in Monmouth County and especially the Red Bank, and Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver Peninsula, we are lucky to have the benefits of small-town living. Great Shops, restaurants, libraries, grocery stores, can all be walking distance away. Additionally, towns like Rumson and Fair Haven do not bus their students to school, instead students walk or ride their bikes. Consider how important it is to be able to walk to town and schools. How important to you is it to be located near the rivers or beach? Sometimes you pay a premium to live on a culdesac or another quiet street. Maybe the house isn’t perfect, but the location is. Remember, you can always renovate, make changes and updates to a home, but you can never change its location.

0, 1 or 2 car garage

This beautiful colonial at 27 Lewis Point Road, in Fair Haven, NJ has a 2-car garage. It is currently offered at $950,000. Please contact me for more information.

How important is a garage to you? Does it matter if it is attached or detached? If you are relocating from a city perhaps a driveway large enough to park your car is all you need. Most homes that do not have a garage will have a storage shed in the yard to store your lawn equipment, bicycles, etc.

Outdoor Living Space

This extraordinary gated estate on the Navesink River features a private deep-water dock with boat lift, infinity edge pool, tennis court, and spectacular views. Located at 700 Navesink River Road, Middletown, NJ. Offered at $7,600,000. Please contact me for more information.

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, look at the size of the back yard. Is there a space for a grill? Many people enjoy relaxing in the yard around a fire pit. Is the yard conducive to this type of entertaining? If you have small children do you need space for a trampoline or swing set? Have you always dreamed of having your own pool? It is always recommended to check with the town’s borough hall to determine if the yard is large enough to accommodate a pool.

Renovation Project

This beautifully renovated kitchen has an oversized island with seating, granite countertops, professional grade appliances and white cabinetry. Located at 5 Holly Lane in Fair Haven, NJ this beautiful home will be coming on the market in mid-January. Please contact me for more information.

Unless you are considering a brand-new construction, most homes will require updating at some point. Are you interested in taking on a renovation project? The benefits of doing it yourself are that you will be paying for the finishes of your choice. You will pick out your own tile, appliances, fixtures and finishes including paint colors, flooring material, lighting etc. You will pay less for a home that needs a renovation and you can put the savings into the renovation itself. You will pay a premium for a house that has already been renovated, but you will not have to go through the inconvenience of a large project.
